What started as helping an elderly neighbor has grown into a full lawn care business — and it's just getting started.
About Jack
From Neighbor's Yard to Full Business
I started mowing lawns when I was 11 years old — not because I saw a gap in the market, but because an elderly neighbor needed help and I had a mower. That one lawn turned into two, then five, and it never stopped growing from there.
Growing up in South Burlington, I watched the area expand year after year. New neighborhoods, new properties, more people who needed reliable lawn care and couldn't find it. I realized I could be the solution — and I committed to doing it right.
Now as a first-year student at UVM working toward my degree, Cheney LawnCare LLC is my business and my commitment to this community. I bring the same work ethic to every property: show up on time, do the job well, and leave the lawn looking better than I found it.
